Some clients prefer telephone counselling as they find it easier to open up to a therapist without seeing them. For someone who has never had any counselling before, this can be a good way to begin your therapy journey. It also allows for greater flexibility as you can have your sessions wherever you are. I offer a one hour initial assessment to all clients. This is an opportunity to talk about your reasons for seeking help and to discuss your expectations for the therapy. This is also where I will explain how I work, confidentiality and where you can ask me any questions. After the first call, you can then decide whether or not to continue with regular sessions. There is no obligation following this assessment, telephone therapy has to feel right for you. I will be happy to make any suggestions if any onward referral is needed or if you would like to change to another form of therapy.
All you need to do is provide me with your preferred telephone number, be it landline or mobile. Ensure that you are in a confidential place where you will not be overheard or interrupted.
